How to Run C++ Program in Visual Studio Code on Windows 10 [ 2021 Update ] VS Code + MinGW Compiler

Hello Everyone! Today in this video I am going to step by step guide you How to Run C++ Program in Visual Studio Code on Windows 10 [ 2021 Update ] VS Code + C on Windows 10 OS.

After that, I am also going to show you How to Create your First Hello World Program in C programming and then how to compile and run them.

Now How to install Visual Studio Code?
Step 1. First You need to download Visual Studio Code for windows 10. For that just go to the following link:
https://code.visualstudio.com/
This page will lead to the Visual Studio Code download page.

Here find the exe setup installation file as shown in the video and click on it to download.
Now after downloading Visual Studio Code save the file to the disk and follow the next step for installation.

Step 2. Install Visual Studio Code
Double click to run the Visual Studio Code installation file. Just follow the prompt as shown in the video (https://youtu.be/yBPy2rtRjNg) and install Visual Studio Code in your OS.

What’s the Visual Studio Code?
- Visual Studio Code is a free source-code editor made by Microsoft for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Features include support for debugging, syntax highlighting, intelligent code completion, snippets, code refactoring, and embedded Git.

Now its time to install MinGW:

Step 3. First You need to go to the following MinGW Distro Official Site.
https://nuwen.net/mingw.html
This page will lead to the MinGW Distro official Site. Now here find mingw-17.1-without-git.exe (45.1 MB) exe file and download it.

Step 4. After downloading just extract the file on your C Drive of your Windows 10 OS. 64 bit. In my video, I have guided you step by step on how to install Mingw. Just follow that if you are facing any issues.

Step 5. Now just copy the bin drirectory path and set this in yout environement variables.

Step 6. Now its time to install an extension. So go to extension in your Microsoft Visual Studio code and search C/C++. Then just download it.

Step 7. Now just simply create a C file and write a hello world Program.

Step 8. Now set gcc compiler in configuration of the extension file of vs code.
And there you go!!

The instructions in this video tutorial can be applied to laptops, desktops, computers, and tablets which run the Windows 10 operating system like Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Professional, Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 10 Education. This tutorial will work on all hardware manufacturers, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, and Samsung.
